Shinko pumps: wear rings, impellers and seals

Keeping Shinko centrifugal pumps at rated flow.

Shinko pumps are standard on many Japanese and Korean built ships, from small SVA and SHQ models to large cargo and ballast pumps. When flow or pressure falls, the cause is usually internal wear rather than the motor.

What to inspect and order

  • Casing and impeller wear rings, which restore efficiency when clearances open up
  • Impeller, if erosion or cavitation damage is visible
  • Mechanical seal or gland packing
  • Bearings and the shaft sleeve
  • Casing gaskets and O-rings

Shinko model codes carry a lot of information, and suffixes matter. Quote the full model, serial number and the item numbers from the sectional drawing.

Our Korean partner factory holds priced parts for a wide range of Shinko models, so most requests can be answered quickly.
